On February 22, 2025, a grand funeral service was held at the Koforidua Jubilee Park to honor the life of Elder Emmanuel Kofi Mireku, the father of renowned gospel musician Elder Dr. Kwasi Mireku. The senior Church of Pentecost leader passed away at the age of 105.

The ceremony attracted numerous sympathizers, including prominent figures from the gospel music community such as Ohemaa Mercy, Diana Hamilton, Mary Ghansah, MOG Music, and Tagoe Sisters etc. who gathered to support their colleague during this time. Elder Mireku, dressed in white, led his family in singing solemn hymns beside his father’s casket.
The event featured heartfelt performances, including an emotional worship session by Elder Mireku himself. Additionally, gospel artist Cecilia Marfo delivered a powerful performance that moved attendees.
The funeral procession, led by Elder Mireku, saw the casket transported in a classic hearse through the streets of Koforidua, with onlookers paying their respects. The former president of the Church of Pentecost delivered a touching tribute, highlighting Elder Emmanuel Kofi Mireku’s selfless leadership and dedication to prayer.
