I’m saddened to confirm that veteran Ghanaian actor Mawuli Semevo has passed away. He died on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Ridge Hospital in Accra, following severe injuries sustained in a domestic fire accident on February 7, 2025. 
The fire occurred at his residence in Adenta SSNIT flats while he was asleep. It resulted in burns covering approximately 44% of his body and caused significant respiratory injuries. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries 13 days after the incident. 
Mawuli Semevo was renowned for his exceptional talent in both stage and film productions. His notable works include “Harvest at 17,” “A Stab in the Dark,” “Escape of Love,” “Like Cotton Twines,” and “The Good Old Days: The Love of AA.” His passing is a significant loss to Ghana’s creative arts community. 
Colleagues and fans have been paying tribute to his memory, highlighting his contributions to the arts and his impactful presence in the industry.
